A former convent which has been beautifully extended
The older part of The Highgate still has period features like high ceilings and elegant fireplaces. Whether you’re there or in the newer wings, you’ll find that we’re small enough for a cosy atmosphere, while also being big enough to make lots of new friends.
Great places to socialise, enjoy an activity or have quiet time
We believe in choice and independence, and keeping rules to a minimum. Residents are invited to personalise their rooms, whether that’s pictures and knick-knacks or even posters and games consoles.
Bright conservatories overlooking the grounds
There are lots of places to get fresh air, with plenty of natural light and nice views of the flowers and trees.
A surprisingly large London garden
Whether its sitting under the shade of the spreading fir tree, going for a stroll or enjoying a drink in the sunshine. There are many ways to enjoy what our garden has to offer.
A lovely blend of old and new
A former convent, the home still retains its period decorations and has been expertly converted in to a safe, secure home fit for purpose. Everyone has comforts and conveniences, such as en-suite rooms.
There’s no typical day at The Highgate, but we arrange plenty to do, both here at the home as well as out and about.
A range of therapies for body and soul
Residents can get daily physio, gentle exercises, art, music, and beauty therapy to keep the mind and body healthy.
Trips to interesting places
There are lots of trips out to places such as parks, the seaside, shopping, safari parks, city cruises, and boat trips to enjoy.
A little bit of culture
With poetry sessions, film shows, cookery classes, sherry afternoons, flower-arranging, and musical entertainment, there is plenty for the residents.

A family member said, "I don't really feel the need to complain. I get the information I need when I ask for it and they keep in touch to let me know what's going on with [relative].”
