Respectful and compassionate care in specially designed settings
Our home has dedicated units for nursing care, dementia care, and one for residents who’re 18-65 with rehabilitation needs. We’re in a lovely spot with beautiful views of the Pentland Hills, just south of Edinburgh.
Great places to socialise, enjoy an activity or have quiet time
We’ve lots of spaces where residents can relax. Each area of our home has a comfortable lounge and a family room, and our courtyard and large gardens have lots of seating, perfect for catching up with family and friends.
Gardens for everyone to enjoy
We have a range of outside spaces to suit everyone: secure enclosed gardens where those with dementia can explore the outdoors, sensory garden attached to young person’s unit, plus large surrounding landscaped gardens.
Residents are welcome to personalise their rooms
Residents are welcome to personalise their rooms with items from home such as furniture, pictures, ornaments, and bedding.
Bring family and friends together for tea and cake
Families are welcome to host celebrations like birthdays in a private space. Catering is available for an extra fee but the chef is happy to bake a delicious cake for free.
There’s no typical day at Braid Hills, we arrange plenty to do, both here at the home as well as out and about.
A variety of activities for everyone
Our activities coordinators plan activities that everyone can access, including those who are less mobile. This includes things like art and craft, baking, gardening club, and movie evenings.
All kinds of visitors and events
We get visiting farm animals/pet therapy, as well as visiting entertainers – such as singers and musicians.
Going out and socialising
We have monthly tea dances – outside of the home we do trips out into the community and garden centre and cinema trips.
